I created this blog in 2014 because I kept having people request that I create a blog. I wasn't sure that I'd have anything to say, but it's now 2020 and this little challenge is still going strong! Reading has probably been the thing I've been the most passionate about, writing a close second. I'm incredibly excited that the internet gives me a venue to combine both.
I started reading and writing at a very young age. My mother instilled a love of both in me as soon as she could, and that is something I'm incredibly grateful for. They've both gotten me through a lot of my life experiences. Currently, I will read just about anything I can get my hands on. My favorite genres include paranormal, science fiction, historical fiction, romance, and fantasy. The love of writing comes and goes, but I've got roughly ten works in progress. Maybe someday another blogger will be reviewing one of my books. A girl can hope, right?
When I'm not reading, writing, or working, I'm usually hanging out with my husband, Chris. If we get a free minute, we love to watch football, baseball, go to car shows, go to sporting events, and also try interesting restaurants. I'm an avid animal lover, and someday I hope that we'll be able to add a four-legged creature to our little duo.
A note about my reviews and pretty much anything I say. I try to be helpful and I try to be constructive. I'm also oftentimes brutally honest and a bit sarcastic (okay... I'm really sarcastic). It's a fine line when talking about whether or not I enjoyed something and being mean. So if my posts ever come across as hurtful please know that is not my intention and I do try to keep myself in the zone of being constructive. I've had this blog for a long time at this point, and have done some growing up since then. I'm better about filtering my thoughts than I was in my mid-twenties, but I still, have a long way to go. I also try to stay away from talking about political or controversial topics on my blog. It's not that I don't care or have an opinion, but life is already oversaturated with it. This blog is the one place that I can get away from that, control the content, and escape. This is the one place where I can talk about one of my biggest passions to my heart's content- books. If you desperately need to know my thoughts on any controversial subject it can be boiled down to this: I want people to be happy, healthy, and feel comfortable and safe in their own lives.
